AIS's new £1m offshore training village in North Shields, UK, has been launched to provide then necessary skills for workers in the fast growing wind industry and will have the capacity to train around 17,500 people a year in skills such as working at height, sea survival and first aid.

Employers Urged to be Vigilant with Young Seasonal Workers

With the summer holidays now in full swing for thousands of UK students, the Health and Safety Authority has urged employers to be extra vigilant when it comes to taking on young workers for summer job. The authority estimates that, although young people constitute only 4% of the workforce, they represent around 10% of all reported injuries.

Access North Building for the Future

Yorkshire-based, working at height specialists, Access North Structures, is looking at an even brighter future having recently secured guidance and funding to take the business to the next level. Kirklees Council has confirmed a £20,000 grant which Access North will use to pay for new asset management reporting software.
