New Technical Safety Helmet from Heightec

Home » News, Press & Projects » New Technical Safety Helmet from Heightec
Height safety specialists, heightec, have recently launched the DUON - the first and only helmet meeting all of the technical requirements for working at height and confined areas which, the Cumbria-based manufacturer claims, sets a new standard in head protection.

International standards mandate different requirements for helmets used in particular work situations: helmets used for fall protection are required to stay attached in a fall, while helmets used in confined spaces must be able to be removed without the need to be unfastened by hand.

Heightec Managing Director, Keith Jones, said: “The DUON allows its wearer to instantly adjust the attributes of their helmet according to the hazards they encounter. Our objective was to create a technically superior product with controllable protection and instant adjustment. DUON is the first helmet to have configurable buckle strengths and settings for variable ventilation.”

Available from October, the DUON can be adjusted easily with one hand, has integrated headlamp fittings and is compatible with visors and hearing protection. Heightec believes it is the only helmet that allows wearers to be fully compliant in complex environments containing different, changing hazards.

The DUON launch comes on the back of news that heightec recently moved its Height Safety Centre to a new north London location which, with a floor area of over 8000 sq mtrs, it is bigger, better and more accessible. The centre will incorporate a greater range of purpose built training structures, enabling a broader training portfolio which will include more Confined Space courses, Advanced Hub Rescue and WTG lifting courses, with the full suite of Global Offshore Wind (GWO) course to follow soon.
